XAT is conducted by XLRI to select candidates for their MBA and other PG Programs. Here's a detailed overview of XAT 2016.

XAT exam is a national level entrance test,XAT 2016 at a Glance Articles conducted by XLRI to select candidates for MBA and other post-graduation programs. Like CAT,  it also tests a candidate’s knowledge of quantitative aptitude, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability. The score of XAT is accepted by over 100 b- schools in India, as a pre-requisite to the further selection process.

XAT 2016 will be held on 3 January, 2016. It is being conducted in 47 cities across India and at two International cities. It is a pen and paper based test. The test comprises of 5 sections- Quantitative Ability, English Language and Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, GK, and Essay Writing. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. The test is divided into two sections. The first section consists of multiple type questions and total time duration for this section is 3 hours. The second section consists of essay writing and time allotted to this section is 30 minutes.

Any aspirant who holds a bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years or equivalent is eligible to apply. Candidates completing their final examination by 10 June, 2016 may also apply. Foreign candidates may apply through GMAT score.

To apply one has to register on the official site of XAT that is, xatonline.net.in. XAT score will only be accepted by XLRI if you register for the college separately, along with the exam. Registrations began on 4 September, 2015 and last date to apply for XAT 2016 is 30 November, 2015. The registration fee for XAT 2016 is INR 1500 and candidates have to pay INR 250 for each XLRI program. A candidate must apply to other B-schools which accept XAT scores as well.

 Admit cards will be available online from 20 December 2015 to 31 December 2015. The admit card will only be available online, one must download the card and no hard copy of the same would be sent. The result is expected in the third week of January. XAT is not difficult; it just needs a different mindset.
