In Arabia people live either in towns or villages or they are nomad.r—people who have no fixed homes, and travel around as shepherds and herdsmen. These nomads make up a large part of the population of Arabia, and are members of the Bedouin tribe. They live outof- doors in tents, roving from one place to another.

One reason they wander so much is because the terrible heat in summer forces them to search continually for water and grass for their animals. The raising of horses, camels, sheep and goats is their chief work. The Arabian horses they raise are famous for speed and beauty all over the world.

The sheep and goats are milked by the women, while the men milk the camels. A large part of the milk is made into butter and cheese, while the wool is spun by the women, and woven into rugs or into the black tents used by the Bedouins
