Many of us make our own Christmas cards,Christmas Party Invitations Articles but have you ever thought of making your own Christmas party invitations? Fun and festive, Christmas invitations are sure to get your guests excited for your party. Here are a few tips for making your own Christmas invitations:

Start Early
It seems every year people's Decembers fill up more quickly. Kids' music and dance recitals, get-togethers with friends and family, office parties, school parties, you name it, there's an event for it in December. To make sure as many of your intended guests come to your party as possible, send your Christmas party invitations out early. Check the calendar for school or charity events that have been scheduled for months and be aware of other events your guests may be involved in and avoid scheduling on those days. Then just pick a date and a time and go with it. It is a busy season and some guests will not be able to attend no matter when you schedule, but by planning in advance, you'll get as many of them as possible.

Pick a Theme
Is your Christmas party a black tie event? A family get-together complete with sledding and a snowball fight? Or even more casual, with a few close girlfriends in flannel pjs drinking hot chocolate and watching movies? Whatever your party's theme, you can make invitations that reflect it. Patterned paper, cardstock, and embellishments are available in a wide assortment of Christmas themes. Head on over to your local scrapbook or craft supply store and check out their inventory. Most stores have some Christmas papers available year-round, with stocks
increasing in October and November. Online suppliers are also a great resource for invitation materials. Search through idea books or online galleries to help you formulate how you want your invitations to look.

Be Frugal
By choosing to make your own Christmas party invitations, you’re already saving money over having them professionally made. You can make them even more inexpensively by choosing a
simple design and using materials you already have on hand. If you made your own Christmas cards, use your leftover scraps. You can use the same card layout, but change the actual papers and embellishments on each one to better use up all your materials. Once you take stock of what you already have on hand, your invitations could be practically free.

Have fun making your party invitations. With your creativity and some effort, they’re sure to be a hit.
