Halloween Party Invitations
Halloween parties are such fun and you can get your guests excited by sending out festive and fabulous Halloween party invitations. Halloween parties vary from glamorous to playful and your Halloween party invitations can be a great reflection of what you want your party to be. Here are some tips for making exciting and fun invitations:
Keep them Age Appropriate
If your party is for kids,
make sure that your Halloween party invitations are more fun and playful and less horror and gore. A great idea for kids’ party invitations is to have your children actually help you make them. They can color on them or offer their inked hand or foot prints as a personal touch. Conversely, invitations for an adults-only party can be dripping with fake blood and severed appendages. Most party-goers will assume that a Halloween party is a costume party, but to make sure your guests come dressed the part, indicate this along with other important information on the invitation.
Start with the Perfect Paper
Beginning in August or September, scrapbook and craft supply stores have an ever-increasing inventory of Halloween inspired papers and cardstocks. Head over to your local store to get an idea of what you want. Traditional Halloween colors are orange and black, but other colors, such as purple and lime green have recently become part of the Halloween color pallet. Don't be afraid to play around with different colors and textures to come up with the perfect halloween party invitation. To make it even easier, several paper manufacturers produce entire lines of coordinating solid and patterned papers, cardstock and embellishments. All the colors and images go together, so you're practically guaranteed to have flawless invitations.
Add Embellishments
The finishing touches you add to your Halloween party invitations can elevate your invitations from so-so to spectacular. Add Ribbon, beads, stickers, stamps, charms and gems add glitz and glam to your cards. Choose embellishments that coordinate nicely with the paper you're using, but that also stand out on their own. Some paper lines include coordinating packages of stickers or other
embellishments, making the decision even easier. Sketch out your invitation idea before you actually make them so you have a clear idea of where to add extra pizazz with embellishments.
Making your own Halloween party invitations certainly isn't as much work as putting on a whole party for your friends or for your kids, but will definitely get your guests excited and ready to come trick-or-treating at your house.
