Each neighborhood offers a variety of architecture and atmosphere to fit many lifestyles and personalities. These neighborhoods are just a short drive away from all of the music, entertainment and seasonal excitement that the downtown area has to offer. 
North Austin Neighborhoods
North Austin Neighborhoods offers an affordable location to live with convenient access to high-tech employers such as Motorola and Texas Instruments. Most travel via Highway 183 access. Major shopping centers include the Arboretum, St. Edwards Park and the Gateway Market. The area offers several locations with custom and spacious older homes with mature tree lots. Located just a few minutes from downtown, North Austin Neighborhoods consist of areas such as Gracywoods, Mesa Park, Balcones Wood, Lakewood Village, Round Rock, Jester Park and Wells Branch. Some of the most desirable home locations exist in neighborhoods such as Spicewood Springs and the Great Hills area. 
South Austin
The area known as South Austin offers an eclectic mix of neighborhoods including new and well established homes. There is easy access to these neighborhoods via Interstate 35 and South Congress. The area offers residents a hip mix of shops, bars and restaurants. It is home to major entertainment and education centers such as St Edwards University, Auditorium Shores and the Palmer Event Center. Neighborhoods in the area include Barton Hills, Bouldin Creek, Cherry Creek, Dawson, Shadow Hallow and Travis Heights. 
East Austin Neighborhoods
East Austin neighborhoods were once known for their affordability, but they have recently undergone a major face lift. Property taxes are now one of the highest within the city, and these locations are now known for their hodgepodge of modern architecture including renovated Victorian homes, pier and beam homes and vintage bungalows. Those that live in the area travel via Martin Luther King Boulevard, Pleasant Valley Road, Springdale Road and Ed Bluestein Boulevard. The area is home to the Huston-Tillotson University, George Washington Carver Museum, the Texas State Cemetery and Ladybird Lake. Neighborhoods in East Austin include East Austin, Cherrywood, Del Valley and Delwood, French Place, Govalle, Mueller, Rosewood and Seabrook. 
West Austin
West Austin neighborhoods include all areas west of Downtown Austin, and it is one of the most highly coveted areas within Austin. The area is marked by flat land to mature rolling hills. Most travel via the South Mopac Expressway, South Capital of Texas Highway and Bee Caves Road. West Austin is also marked by high-end homes and exemplary schools. The area is home to the 360 Bridge, Zilker Park, Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve and the Barton Creek Greenbelt. It The area also boasts the prestigious Austin County Club and the Barton Creek Resort and Spa. Some of the most sought after neighborhoods include Barton Creek, Davenport, Seven Oaks, Rob Roy and Westlake Hills. West Austin also covers neighborhoods such as Farwest, Highland Park West, Rollingwood, Tarrytown and Westlake Hills.
