Many are still unsure of how to correctly treat an infestation. There are many insecticide actives and formulations on the market many are labelled for use against bed bugs. Some are better than others in fact some active ingredients will have very little effect on a bed bug infestation.

Many new products have recently become available to help in the fight against bed bugs these include mattress,Managing bed bugs Articles box spring and pillow encasement systems. The encasement system works by covering the entire mattress with a cover that bed bugs can't get in or out of. Any bugs that have managed to get inside the mattress will be trapped and will eventually die.

Bed bug traps have been developed that work by attracting the bed bug using heat and or Co2 and then trap the bed bug in glue. Other products are available that prevent bed bugs climbing onto the bed ,these are either a simply sticky tape barrier or a device that fits on or under the bed legs.

Another important development is the bed bug monitoring device. The bed bug monitor provides the ideal harbourage for the bed bug and once correctly positioned can help detect early bed bug activity.
