There are enough birth control pills to confuse one. If you have been thinking of which one to go for or are not aware of all the types of birth control methods that exist,Various Types of Birth Control Methods in the Market Articles take a look at these.

Combination Pill
Combination pill-a combination of pills-has been known to be 99% effective against pregnancy when the pill is taken at the same time every day. Combination pill helps in easing hot flashes and restoring periods. People aged above 35 and smokers should not use combination pill for birth control.

Progestin-Only Pill

Progestin-only is more popularly known as mini pill and doesn’t contain estrogens. This pill is safe for diabetics, smokers and people with heart disease. If you are breastfeeding, you may take this pill as it does not reduce the supply of milk. If you are likely to be forgetful about taking your pills at a particular time every day, you perhaps are not a good candidate for mini pills.

Vaginal Ring
Vaginal ring is made up of flexible plastic that is placed in the vagina for three weeks and removed the fourth week so you can have regular period. The vaginal ring delivers progestin and estrogens similar to the combination pill. If you are a smoker, have any type of cancer or have blood clots, avoid using the vaginal ring.

Diaphragm
The diaphragm is a popular that is also known as the Milex Wide Seal, Semina, Ortho All-Flex or SILCS. The diaphragm prevents the sperm from fertilising the egg. It must always be used with a spermicide. If your weight keeps fluctuating more than 10 pounds at a time, you are not the right candidate for diaphragm because you will have to be refitted every time you lose or gain weight.

IUD
The IUD is also called Paragard or Mirena. Paragard is a surgically implanted copper device that keeps the sperm from reaching the egg. IUDs or IUDs are 99% more effective than other conventional methods of birth control. A lot of doctors advice women, who have already had birth, to use the IUDs because when the IUD is implanted, it makes the uterus expand and this may cause pain in women, who have not had birth before.

The above birth control methods are 99 % effective, though the pills must not be taken without consulting the doctor.
