A wedding rehearsal is a good opportunity to iron out any last-minute worries about your big day,Wedding Insurance and Your Wedding Rehearsal Articles and make sure everyone knows what they’re supposed to be doing. It’s also a great excuse to kick back and socialise with your guests, knowing that the hard work you’ve put into preparations is nearly over.

If you’ve taken out a Wedding Insurance policy, you can relax in the knowledge that any cancellations at this point will be covered – for instance, if your catering company goes into liquidation or the florist shuts down. And a good wedding insurance provider will also try and help you organise a replacement supplier if one does fail.

Traditionally, a wedding rehearsal is hosted by the groom’s family but a couple might want to check their budget and share the cost. Just because it’s a rehearsal doesn’t mean it has to be formal. In fact, it’s a good chance to mingle with the guests and make everyone feel comfortable before the wedding. The day itself might be hectic, so take your chance to chat to everyone while you can.

You don’t need to go as far as a formal rehearsal of the ceremony, but it’s a good idea to give close family and friends and idea of what the service will be like and what’s expected of them. Let your bridesmaids know what you need them to do and when, and which order they’ll be walking in.

You could hold the rehearsal dinner in a hotel or restaurant near the venue, or if your budget’s looking tight you could make things really casual and hold a party at home – and even get a takeaway in, or get everyone to bring something for the buffet. Guests will want to toast the bride and groom, but if you’re getting married the next day it’s wise to go easy on the alcohol and leave plenty of time for beauty sleep!

The rehearsal dinner is a good time to give out any thank-you gifts to anyone who’s been helping you with the wedding planning. Flowers or a bottle of wine are a safe option, and show your appreciation without being too extravagant. If you’d like to give a more detailed thank-you speech in an intimate setting, do it now rather than waiting for the big moment during your wedding breakfast.
