Learn how you can clean your carpet using natural home products. Do not use chemicals to clean spots on carpeting, and do not waste money in the process
Chemical products manufactured especially for removing carpet stains are a big money-making business. Expensive spray bottles and cans take up many feet of shelf space in stores, but they are not necessary.Try the following natural way to remove carpet stains, and get rid of the mess without polluting your indoor environment. This natural carpet cleaningmethod works very well, and it is far cheaper than anything else available on store shelves.
Necessary Supplies
To remove carpet stains using this safe and easy natural method you will need cool, clear water, white absorbent paper toweling, white absorbent rags and baking soda. Also required is a vacuum and at least two complete days to get rid of the marks. This natural method is not immediate. After carpet stains are treated, the absorbing cleaner must remain in place for at least forty-eight hours.
Procedure
If carpet stains are fresh, begin by removing solids using paper towels. Use additional paper toweling to absorb liquid. Fold and press layers of toweling over the stains to absorb the moisture. Do this until clean toweling will not longer absorb anything.
Next, work on the carpet with clear water. Do not saturate the carpet, but be sure to use enough water to thoroughly dampen the stains. After going over the areas with clean rags until nothing else is there to remove, cover the marks with a generous amount of ordinary baking soda.
Allow the baking soda to remain on the carpet stains until it completely dries. As it works to remove the marks it will change color if anything was left to remove. When it is dry and ready to vacuum it will begin to harden and crack. Vacuum up the baking soda along with any remaining stains. Go over the carpet using the vacuum in every direction and the marks will magically disappear.
If the marks could be removed, they will be gone along with any remaining odor. This natural way to remove carpet stains is by far more effective than any chemical products I have used, especially when trying to get rid of pet stains. Best of all, one box of baking soda can replace many cleaners that cost considerably more.
