Health insurance coverage is something that seems like it would be pretty easy to handle but is a government handled insurance plan actually going to present individuals with the coverage that they need.  Some health insurance is currently managed by the government and so it is simple to look at what the idea of government run health care truly looks like.

To start with we can look at Medicare.  This health insurance is constructed to help the aged to receive the medical coverage that they require later in life,Current Government Health Plans And How They Compare To The Newest Plan Implemented Articles but there are many things that Medicare doesn’t pay for and still other things that it pays so little for that doctors are reluctant in taking patients with Medicare coverage.  If you have a doctor when you get approved for Medicare they will keep you on as a patient however if you need to change doctors while you are being covered by this plan you are likely to find that several refuse you because of this coverage.  It's a real tragedy.

Medicaid is about the same.  While it does present coverage there are many things that Medicaid doesn’t cover and also it only pays very little to providers which once again causes discrimination within the health care industry.  Unfortunately this discrimination is caused by the failure of these programs to pay a fair amount to providers for services rendered.

Military insurance is also a PPO plan in the sense that you must see those doctors that the military specifies and they don’t provide many choices for alternative care or any treatments that are not specifically within the realm of a medical doctor.  This reduces choices even of those who serve our country and if this is the plan that the government is providing its own employees can you just imagine what kind of coverage will be afforded to those who aren't government employees?

Overall government run health care is a nightmare and one that American’s need to wake up from fast.  While this might appear to be the answer to the troubles plaguing the U.S. in the long run this really does not seem like a good solution.  The rest of the world has learned the hard way that nationalized health care plans don’t work and while many of these nations are changing back to a private pay health care system the U.S. is finally getting around to considering nationalized health care.  How could such an advanced country be so far behind the rest of the world? It really makes you wonder what they hope to accomplish from a system that is failing in every other country in the world.
