Did you know that there is an exercise that anyone can do to help with adult bladder control problem? It is called the Kegel exercises.
Most women have heard of these exercises, especially if you have had a baby. Most doctors will tell a pregnant woman that they need to do this prior to giving birth because it helps to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. For those of you who have not heard of these exercises let me tell you what they are and how they can help you with your bladder control problem.
The pelvic floor muscles help support the urethra, bladder, vagina, penis, uterus and rectum. These are used when you urinate or have a bowel movement. When you strengthen your pelvic floor muscles it will help lessen and even possibly prevent leaking of urine from the bladder.
Let me tell you how you want to do the Kegel exercises:
One: Determine which muscle that needs to be exercised. You can tell which muscles to use by squeezing the muscles in your genital area by pretending that you are trying to stop the flow of urine. Get a feeling where this muscle is and how it feels when it is being exercised.
Two: You want to tighten these muscles and hold them for about four seconds and then relax. You want to repeat this process for about 10 or 20 times. Between each contraction of the muscles you want to make sure that you allow the muscles to relax completely. After you get the hang of it you will be able to contract the muscle for four seconds and then completely relax for four seconds.
Three: You want to make sure that you do the Kegel exercises 10 times a day. This is important because if you do fewer than this number you will be lowering the effectiveness of the exercises.
Four: The great thing about Kegel exercises is that you can do them anywhere and no one will even know you are doing them. For example, you can do them at work, in your car, while you are washing dishes or even watching television. It doesn't matter where you do them as long as you do them every day.
Five: You don't want to do these exercises while you are urinating.
Some people will see a positive change after doing Kegel exercises for just a few weeks. However, most people will not notice a major improvement until they have been doing the daily exercise for 3 to 6 months. It is important for you to do these exercises every day even if you don't feel a difference. They will help keep your pelvic muscles strong and will over time help to strengthen them even more. Kegel exercises really do help with an adult bladder control problem. Try it for yourself and see the positive results you can obtain.
In summary, an adult bladder control problem is definitely something serious that needs to be taken care of by a health professional before you try any time of home remedy. There is a well-known exercise that can help to prevent further problems or even stop a bladder control problem.
