Some treatments come and go,Derma Roller Reviews Articles and some are just here to stay; the Derma Roller is the latter. Since this is a relatively new treatment, it is not mainstream yet, but i was mentioned by me girlfriend about this, and so i will just share my research main conclusions. Join me as i detail further on what is the real deal about this, and what it can do for your skin. What is it?Its a tool used in a specific kind of treatment, that treatments name is Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), the instrument has some resemblances to a small paint roll, the main difference is that this one is covered with micro-needles, these needles serve only one purpose: punching really small holes in the epidermis (the outer layer, far enough from any nerve endings, so no pain). How does it Work?Since this is about Collagen Induction Therapy, like the name itself suggests, the main goal is to generate a production of collagen in our skin, and that is the function of the Derma Roller itself. Remember those micro-needles i spoke about earlier, well these do all the work, simply by penetrating the skin just enough to stimulate the nerve endings to produce collagen, eventually creating a layer of collagen in the skin, since this happens in a superficial level, and the needles are so small, you fell no pain, just a light tickle. The recently formed layer of collagen will eventually blend with the skin covering up and correcting most issues, and forming a healthier, ticker and more elastic fresh layer of skin.Is this safe?It all depends on the needle size, this same treatment is performed in clinics, but they use needles above 1.5mm, which is the limit baseline for professional use. Since we plan to use this at home, all sizes below or even 1.5mm will work and be safe at the same time, still the best starting point would be the 0.5 needles, and then if you feel comfortable with the treatment, you can go for bigger needles that work in a slightly deeper level. Larger needles above 1.5mm, do yield better results, but since they require numbing of the skin, they are really only fit to be used by professionals in clinics, because it is just not safe to use a numbing cream at home without professional guidance. So it is up to you, if you want to spend a lot more and go to a clinic, or just use smaller needles, that eventually will get the same result in given time, and spend less; also a big advantage for home needles, is that they can be used multiple times, and not only once like their bigger brothers, so you can target different areas with the same roller. Can i use it to heal my skin condition?Since this treatment focuses on repairing the skins epidermis, every skin issue that does not go deeper than that can be minimized or removed with the Derma Roller, this includes wrinkles, burn scars, acne scars, stretch marks, ice picks and so on. One thing you need to have in mind is that this is not just about collagen induction, the derma roller will also act as a catalyst to any cream you put on the treated area, increasing the absorption rate up to 2000x (not a typo really), that is why this can also be used to treat hair loss, and receding hair lines. If your target area is the skin, you should always use a decent vitamin cream, there is really no need to go for expensive creams, when all you need to do is nourish the skin from within. On the other hand if you are using this on the scalp, instead of the vitamin cream, use the ever popular minoxidil, even if you are demoralized from having tried it already and seen few results, remember that now it has a better rate of absorption.ConclusionSo there you have it, this is what the Derma Roller is all about, if you are hesitant just go with the smallest possible needle to give it a go, as this is really very inexpensive and yields good results, and all it takes is a little bit of time. Make sure you choose an FDA approved and gamma sterilized product and you should be fine.If you interested in this treatment, please read further on, as i wrote a more extensive article, that includes videos, before and after pictures, and information to where to purchase your tool Derma Roller Treatment.
