Tattoo removal is a big industry for people to be part of; Others are joining the industry as patients. So what are the various tattoo removal options one can have when considering removing their once beloved ink?
The first is a form of removal is excision. Excision is when the tattoo is removed via surgery; the area of skin that contains the tattoo is removed and then there is new skin placed over that area or the sides are then stitched together. Typically, the middle of the tattoo is removed first and then the sides.
Another is laser tattoo removal and it is one of the most common forms of tattoo removal one has available to them. What happens with this form of removal is that pulses of a laser (light) hit the skin, getting through to the ink that lies in the dermis layer (second layer) of skin and breaks up the ink. The laser breaks up the ink into tiny fragments, which are then disposed of via the skin and your system. The body will clear away the dead ink fragments and this is seen by the human eye as the tattoo fading as time goes by. One of the most advanced lasers out there is Asclepion TattooStar Effect Laser, which is a laser used for the R20 procedure, which is expedited laser tattoo removal.
With this form of removal, you will need to have multiple removal sessions. The reason for needing multiple sessions is not a bad note for the technology but for the human body. We can only tolerate so much pain at one time (the pain amount differs per person, depends on your tolerance), and your skin has to do some healing before the next removal session.
A third way is to have dermabrasion. Essentially, this is just rubbing the tattoo away. What happens here is that there is a chemical spray that is frozen over the top layer of the skin, epidermis, which is one layer of skin above the tattoo (remember, it is in the dermis). The chemical spray essentially kills the skin and that dead skin is rubbed away until the tattoo no longer remains. Like laser tattoo removal, many sessions are required with time of healing in between.
