Liposuction and Your Mommy Makeover
Liposuction is done by itself or in conjunction with a mommy makeover. Liposuction works by melting and sucking fat away and can help give you back your pre-mommy body.
Liposuction can be done alone,
or it can be done in conjunction with another cosmetic procedure such as a tummy tuck. The popular mommy makeover is one example of how fat removal is used with a tummy tuck to help undo the obvious signs of damage that a pregnancy can reap on a body. A tummy tuck works by tightening the abdominal wall muscles up and suturing them so that they heal in place. This can help a woman get back her six flat abs again if she ever had them. But if you're like most women who are looking at a mommy makeover, a tummy tuck by itself won't do all of the work that needs to be done.
Sometimes there is an extra matter of five to ten pounds of fatty cell deposits hanging around in that area that needs some help going away. Diet and targeted exercises can do some good to get rid of extra unwanted fat, but they can't always specifically target the fat that is resilient and determined to stay right around your gut. Liposuction literally melts the fat and then sucks it out of your targeted areas and sculpts your body back into shape which you can then maintain and control by dieting and targeted exercise programs.
If you have lost a lot of weight already, your skin may be stretched out from the weight gain, which is common in women who have gained and lost a lot of weight due to pregnancy or just from a lifetime of gaining and losing weight. Liposuction and a tummy tuck can help restore your body, but you may have to consider having the extra flaps of skin surgically removed at the same time to fully see and appreciate the results.
Even if you have a lot of elasticity left in your skin, it is very likely that with so much stretching out, your skin won't simply snap back into place, and the extra skin will subtract from the success of your mommy makeover.
If you're ready for liposuction, you need to find a plastic surgeon that is a certified member of the American Board of Plastic Surgeons to do the procedure. As simple as the procedure is, when it is done, wrong the results look it and can make you wish for the fat back. You also want to find a surgeon who is skilled in this procedure and does it on a regular basis. Like any good surgery, the more a surgeon does a particular procedure, the more they become adept at fixing problems and catching problems before they begin.
You want a happy ending to your surgery, and even though no surgery comes with any guarantees, you can ensure you at least increase your odds for a successful surgery by making sure you pick a skilled surgeon in the first place.
