Drug rehabilitation programs within the state of Texas fall into one of three major categories: short or long term inpatient treatment, long term religious programs, and those that employ the 12-Step method. This type of addiction treatment focuses on moral, ethical and religious values to help the addict overcome his or her problem. Unlike some other methods of treatment, faith based rehab does not use other drugs to curb the addict's cravings, giving the person the chance to detoxify without additional drugs being used. People who join and complete the treatment plan in church sponsored addiction treatment programs have a fairly high success rate, but the retention rate for such programs is low.Most people have heard of the 12-step program that has been around for over 70 years now. These types of addiction programs are very common. These programs focus on group support to overcome addiction and to maintain sobriety as participants work their way through each of the 12 steps. They are less effective than long term inpatient treatment but have been successful in helping large numbers of people achieve and maintain sobriety over the years.What determines outcome with each of these methods is largely up to the individual being treated, but longer term inpatient addiction treatment programs seem to exponentially increase the patient's ability to beat the addiction. The cost for treatment at a rehab center can be anywhere from $14,000 to well over $45,000, depending on the length of the stay and what the program offers. Most treatment centers bill on a per-day rate but there are some longer term facilities that bill a flat rate, regardless of length of stay.
