Canon EF-S Macro Lens - 60mm Prime Lens

Not each and every photographer is a professional. Of this I am guilty.Nonetheless I really enjoy my personal Canon EOS 30D. And, despite the fact that my camera is not a pro digital slr camera, I have captured some really great images with it. I have even received a number of honors on different websites as "image of the day".Finding a Canon EF-S Macro LensSearching for lenses for my own Canon dslr brought me to investigate the Canon EF-S macro lens option. I find that EF-S lenses perform extremely well, basically because they are made specifically for my variety of digital camera. The Canon macro 60mm lens is my favorite by far, not just because of the macro photos it creates, but additionally because it handles other kinds of pictures well, too. For instance, when I want to snap a portrait of one of the grandchildren, the Canon EF-S macro lens is my alternative. It is the perfect focal length to get professional type portraits.I fool around with product shots in my garage where I set up a very crude light-box, and the 60mm macro is my lens for that, too.It does not handle landscapes very well, and on trips to the ball park, there will likely be a separate lens on my Canon DSLR, but even though the lens is not perfect for all photos, I find that the Canon EF-S macro lens takes care of most of my photo work with excellent success.On top of that, if I plan to upgrade to a better camera (I have my eye on a Canon 7D, and discussions with my wife have begun), the EF-S lenses will perform just fine.As a close-up photography fan, I determined that the Canon 60mm has really accomplished the job beautifully. It has an excellent wide aperture of f/2.8 to deliver fast shutter speeds for those elusive bugs and butterflies. It also produces a nice blurred background, the objective of a decent close-up image. The USM (ultra sonic motor) provides quick focus, again, nailing the bug shots with a pretty good "keeper" rate.I would not hesitate to endorse a Canon EF-S macro 60mm lens to virtually any Canon camera owner. It is an awesome lens.
