These are also known as inbound links or back links.  The quality and the quantity of these back links will also have a big influence on your website’s position on the search page in the search engines. A high-quality link is the link that comes from a site that has already has a good reputation in the search engines. To make a website search engine friendly there are many other criteria such as bookmarking etc.

It is the search bots that decide on the rank of a website in the search pages. However, it is important to note prior to starting an online business through a website, that deciding patterns of search bots are designed by copying humans. So, a site that is highly appreciated and liked by its human visitors will most likely get awarded higher rankings by the search engines.
