Individuals give great importance for the decoration of their homes with paintings,Vastu Shastra Home Decoration Articles artificial flowers, idols etc. They give more importance to the main door of their house as people in ancient times consider that prosperity and wealth comes from the main door. Even today people used to think the same as give much priority to the main door their houses. While decorating the main door of the house according to Vastu Shastra principles people should consider the following things in mind:

Kul Devata Idol: The image of Kul Devata, the family deity should be hanged out on the main door. It should not be more than one hasta i.e. 18 inch of length.

Two Prathiharis (Guards):  The main door should also be decorated with guards bearing swords in their hands, well dressed, and should be placed on both sides of the door.

Two Prathiharis (Sentinels or guards): Well decorated in ornaments bearing staff and swords in their hands, well clothed, glowing with youth and beauty, along with lady Prathiharinis and placed on both the sides of the door.

People now a days, have  more awareness and enthusiasm to decorate their houses as per vastu shastra principles and also use the images of Gods such as Krishna, Ganesh, Brahma etc and also of many other prohibited motifs.

Things to avoid: In order to avoid your house from unforeseen events one should placed the images or pictures of animals such as pigs and snakes. They should not also display the pictures of few birds like eagle, crow, pigeons, vultures etc. Images of wild beast animals should also be avoided like those of tigers, lions, bears, jackals, wild asses, hounds etc.

Things to implement in the house: You should put up the symbols of Swastik, Om, Rangoli as they stop the entry of evil spirits in the house. You should also place the photographs of your ancestors on the south western side of your house. In addition, the clock should be placed on the eastern or western wall.

Installation of Idols in homes: A place of worship is a must in a home. You should also install the place of worship in office, factory, schools, colleges and other buildings too. Perfect place for the installation is the north-east corner of the building. The idols of Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwar, Surya, Inder should place either on east or Western side of the building. The four-headed Brahma, six-headed kartikeya, five faced Shiv can be placed in any direction of the building while Hanuman ji should face southwest.
