There are a multitude of resources out there on how to bring in clients to your work at home business. One of the basics of marketing your work at home business is to create quality marketing tools.  Quality marketing tools do not need to be expensive,Work at Home Business Basics - Bringing in Clients Articles they just need to show significant thought into presenting your image.  For instance, you should determine all of the tools you will need when you meet with a prospect or client like brochures, letterhead, documents, and even presentation tools.  Then you can sit down with a designer and copywriter to create these documents.  If you are on a budget, you can find students or trade services with other companies that offer design services.

Also, you should make sure you present a greeting that is professional, even if you have a work at home business.  Make sure your children are not answering the phone and that you are in a quiet environment.  Also, a professional voice mail system or auto attendant system through your phone company can present a very professional front to your clientele, and it is not very costly.

In order to market your business effectively and within a budget, you should know how to narrow your target audience.  Find the companies that are most likely to use your services or products and begin making regular contact with them.

Trade shows are also an effective and fairly inexpensive way to reach a number of potential clients.  You don’t even have to get a booth all on your own.  You may be able to find another work at home business owner with whom you can share a booth and the cost.  Also, make sure you follow up on your leads, as they will often become actual clients.

Research into what your competitors are doing is also an effective way to draw in new clients.  This does not mean stealing clients, it just means researching what they are doing to draw new clientele.  Sometimes they have ideas that may be effective for you, too.  Often there are groups out there for those in the same types of work at home businesses for support and encouragement where business owners are more than willing to share ideas.  If there is no such group in your area, you may want to consider starting one.
