Dragons,A Medieval Mixture for Your Home Articles castles, knights in shining (or clanking) armor are still fascinating us even though they come from a period in history which is so remote from ours. While children are fascinated with dinosaurs, they tend to lose their obsession as they grow older, but the mystery of the “worm” or dragon stays with us even when we are adults. With the game “Dungeons and Dragons” adults could play out a little of their fantasy world with their kids, and now, in the 21st century, adults are feeling more free about their predilection for the Medieval and Gothic.
You can decorate rooms with Medieval wallpaper full of knights, castles and dragon figurines, and if you are not ready for that you could start with a dragon candle holder or a few dragon candles. Whether you progress to having a full suit of armor in the hall or a few Medieval instruments of war, such as a jousting lance or a mace, is entirely up to you.
There is a rising interest in the paintings of the Dutch artist, Hieronymus Bosch, who was born in 1450 but whose paintings of nightmarish figures are particularly appreciated today. Prints of his works such as the Garden of Earthly Delights and the Four Last Things (which were Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell) are readily available as prints online, and have become much sought after items. They look as if they are modern paintings and you will marvel at the detail in them from a medieval artist, which Bosch was.
If you love the macabre and gothic motifs, then you are not alone, the medieval themes are more popular now than they have ever been, and have perhaps become more so due to the plethora of films that have emerged in recent years about dragons and the slaying of beasts that defy description. Among these films the trilogy “Lord of the Rings” stands out, and those who read JRR Tolkein’s books back in the 1970s will appreciate the fact that such themes are popular. Now you can not only buy chess sets of dragons, wizards and Orcs, but have your whole apartment or house dedicated to the themes you love.
There are special wallpapers for children, which are not as dark as those designed for adult aficionados of the genre, as well as swords of varying degrees of authenticity which can be purchased.
Some people have dragon tattoos and then stop there, but now it is much more acceptable to decorate your home in any way you choose, and there are specialist shops and sites online which cater for those whose tastes are gothic or medieval. If you want a fire-breathing dragon, then if money is no object, you can have one made. You can re-enact scenes from films or from your own imagination and rescue (or be) a damsel in distress, as there are costumes to rent as well as decorative items to buy.
Why not venture into the medieval world online and see what there is to offer?

Despite its popularity in the U.S., the Siamese cat boasts exotic origins from Thailand, formerly known as Siam, until its name change in 1939. This breed's journey to American soil is marked by a notable event in 1878 when President Rutherford B. Hayes received the first documented Siamese cat as a diplomatic gift. Known for their slender elegance and unique coat patterns, Siamese cats are a blend of grace and mystery, with a temperament that is as demanding as it is affectionate. They thrive on companionship and detest solitude, often forming inseparable bonds with their human counterparts. Their intelligence and vocal nature make them a constant presence in their owners' lives, while their penchant for high places can lead to some amusing escapades.
