DIY Building Projects - Impact Drivers Are The New Favorite Tool

Lots of homeowners relish in doing their own DIY jobs for saving money and enjoyment. But,However, without the proper tools, there isn't much fun.

There were really two reasons for building an outside shed at our brand new house. Hold it, that would actually be three reasons.

First, my wife was upset that the garage had become somewhat of a "Fiber McGee's Closet" with all my "stuff" from our old house being crammed into a space about half the size of the former space. We simply had to have more space. It would prove to be a very important investment if our relationship was saved.

The second reason was kind of related to the first. With such a cramped storage area, I could not find anything. Doing anything around the house was taking twice as long due to the hunting part of the project. Professional organizers would have been challenged to straighten out this muddled up mess.

Last reason: cordless impact drivers. I had to have one. As is the addiction of many DIYers, I am a tool gatherer. Creating jobs just to buy a new tool is not above me. There was no impact driver in my garage, of this I was certain. The new shed was a good reason to get one.

The Materials List

Creating a list of materials is invariably the first order of business when I start a new project. I did not hesitate. I put that impact driver right at the top of the list. My wife always has a say in the financial decisions, so she would have to approve the purchase, but saving time would be a good enough reason. Also, I am not as young as I once was, and she is always in favor of saving my stress on my body, which is a major benefit of these new tools.

Having completed the list, I approached her with confidence that we could pull this off in record time and under the allotted budget. Her first question was about the cost of the impact driver. She wanted to know if this was just another of my passing fancies. I assured her that it was necessary for my health, and she bought it.

A Happy Ending

Now that I have the tool, I can assure you, the rumors did not do it justice. It is a truly amazing tool. The new method of driving fasteners is absolutely stressless on your arm. My cordless drill weighs about twice as much as the impact driver. In fact, this new impact driver has become my new favorite. I am even trying to dream up more ways to use it around the homestead.

The outside shed? It's done, and it has helped to get things organized. And, of course, our relationship has returned to normal, thanks to the amazing impact driver.
