The LXMT025 now spearheads Makita's 18V LXT list,Makita\\\'s New and Improved Multi-Tools Articles which allows for 50+ tools (and more coming soon) to be used along with a single lithium-ion battery. When you have so much that can be done with the lot, it makes for a set of versatile same with  black and decker power tools that offer unmatched value when compared to purchasing tools individually whenever you can summon up the energy to plunge into a new home improvement project.  The battery allows for 15 minutes of run-time for the variable speed oscillating multifunction power tool which has controls to vary speed to six different settings from 6,000 to 20,000 OPM.The soft start combines well with the speed adjustment settings to provide more control for matching the speed to the application on the go, and the 3.2-degree oscillation makes it one mean cutting and sanding tool. The tool now has a large on-off slide switch with a lock button and a small diameter barrel grip that makes it easier to handle. The Energy Star charger and the LED illumination light make it more Eco-friendly than most other tools in its class. It comes with two batteries and one charger. You get fourteen different accessories that can be used for everything from fast cutting and sanding to scraping and grout removal. The accessories include a 3-1/4" round saw blade and a couple of plunge cutting saw blades, another two 3-1/2" segmented saw blades, a 3" sanding plate with a sanding pad and oscillating sand paper and a 2" scraper. It can also be bought as a bare tool (LXMT02Z) with 1 plunge cut blade and 2 accessory adapters, but without the charger and batteries. The other new Makita multi-tool release is the TM3000CX5, which has a 3 amp motor and offers the same 3.2-degree oscillation, soft start and variable speed from 6k-20k OPM. It also has electronic speed control which ensures you get a constant even under load. It can be used by everyone from re modelers to carpenters, electricians, plumbers and wood floor installers. There's a 3-year warranty on the tools and a one year warranty on the batteries and charger if you have bought them too. The only question that you now have to mull on is whether you want to buy the multi-tool kit first and then figure out what projects to use it for, or get started with something like a drywall installation where rotary tools will come in very handy.
