However, it is important to note that while they may get squished in the process, they may not be dead. Take care when attempting to remove it from your home. Keep Kids and Pets Away

Small children and pets may not know the risks surrounding this type of pest. They may innocently attempt to touch it or get near it out of curiosity. You want to make sure to keep them as far away as possible.
