Paying rent monthly allows you the ability to pay a bit at a time, rather than paying a large sum of money upfront. If you are working, you will be able to pay your bills as you are paid, instead of worrying about making enough money over the summer to pay for all of your accommodation costs.

When you decide to live in these accommodations, you do not have to worry about not having enough space for your wardrobe. In dorms or on-campus accommodations, you often do not have enough space for your clothes and your personal items, because the closets areas are too small, and you might not have a space to keep your things in other areas of the small dorms. When you live in off-campus accommodations are more likely to more living space, an increase space for storage and more privacy. You do not have to live under the rules that might be imposed on you if you live in the dorms. For example, you can have people of the opposite sex in your accommodations at any time, and there are no curfews.

When you choose off-campus options, you do not have to be too concerned with not having enough space for parking. If you have a car, you can park close to home and not have to be concerned with wasting time trying to find a space whenever you want to park. You might also have the convenience of having an alarm system in your dwelling and if you like, you can choose to have the system monitored. Some off-campus accommodations give you the convenience of having your own bathroom. You will not have to worry about sharing a bathroom with your roommate, especially if you have your own room. Unless you have guests, you will not have to clean up after someone else. You can share the kitchen and the dining room area. Since you do share the house with other people, you can split the cost of the housing. It is less expensive than paying for a one bedroom apartment by yourself. With student housing, you have access to some of the same amenities yet you have your privacy.
