One thing that is important to know is that there are many poisonous, but invisible substances in your pool. Those are chemicals like oil and also calcium that get stuck in a part of your pool filter (the cartridge). In order to maintain your pool, you have to make sure that you are keeping the pool filter cartridge clean.
When you keep it clean, you will see that you are going to be able to maintain the value of your pool for a much longer time. Below are the steps to make sure that you can change your pool filter cartridge so that you maintain your pool.
Check the Pressure! There is a pressure gage that is at the top of the pump that will let you know if you need to clean the pool filter cartridge. The main reason for that is because if it is not clean, you will see that there is going to be more problems with it. If you changed it in the past week or so, you would see that you need to clean it chemically or replace it if you have high pressure.
Turn off the Pump! You want to make sure that you turn of the power so that you will stop the flow of water and be able to replace the pool filter cartridge.
Remove the Pressure! Make sure that you are able to look at the pressure dial at the top and that you see it drop to 0.
Turn the locking mechanism! This will ensure that you are able to get to the pool filter cartridge.
Lift the filter head! When you lift the pool filter head, you will need to be careful to make sure that you do not break the O ring seal, and you will be able to get to the pool filter cartridge.
Look at the pool filter cartridge.
Pull out the pool filter cartridge.
Pull out the pool filter cartridge that is in the pool container and then you will want to look at it. Put it into the cleaning solution that you have and make sure that you are going to be able to clean it off and that it looks better.
Mix in the cleaner to cover the pool cartridge filter and make sure that you add about 4 gallons of water so that you will be able to keep it clean. Make sure that you wear gloves to that you will be assured to keep yourself safe.
Fill up your container and make sure that you cover the pool filter cartridge with water.
Soak the cartridge for the entire night and make sure that you are able to keep it clean.
If it’s clean enough, place the cartridge back in it’s place and enjoy a clean pool again. If it’s still dirty, then it’s probably time to replace your cartridge.
