If making money blogging is your goal right now then get ready to learn how to do it. I’m giving you ten great steps to implement for you to make a successful income with a blog. Notice, I’m not telling you how to write your own blog, that’s something you have to do for yourself but I am 10 steps that I do for every blog I create personally.
Step 1 – Find a Topic to Write About
When I get to this step, I set aside everything that I’m doing and all I do is think about something that I could write about passionately with total dedication. I think about something that wouldn’t bore me after the first twenty articles I write.
As a blogger, you want to make sure you’re writing about something that will interest you and won’t bore you because if it does your readers will see that you don’t know what you are writing about and you won’t have readers anymore.
Make sure that the topic you choose is something that will interest others as well. What you can do is go to a site called MetaSpy.com or AskIq.com because these are great websites to find what people are talking about if you don’t think of anything. Don’t worry, you can write about anything. I know a blog owner who has thousands of readers and they write about bicycles.
Step 2 – Set Up Your Blog
When you have found a topic that you can write about with a passion the next step is to make your blog. A lot of people go to Blogger.com and set up a blog and why shouldn’t they? Blogger is a phenomenal site that hosts millions of blogs from different people and its totally free.
If you don’t like Blogger there’s always Wordpress and Movable Type. All of them are easy to use and set up. What you want to do is write your posts and publish them. Make sure that its original, entertaining and informative writing. Write as if you were talking to your closest friend about the topic.
Step 3 - Set Up Google AdSense On Your Blog
Go to Google AdSense and embed the html code on your blog so that Google can track how many clicks and page views your blog gets. With AdSense you make money with clicks and page views and the best thing about it is that you can make more than $100 per click with AdSense. There are blog owners making six figures a year from just one blog they have and you can do the same provided you get enough readers and followers on your blog.
Step 4 – Start a Subscriber List so that You Can Promote Products
When you get a significant amount of readers on a daily basis you can put in a subscription section on your blog where you can have your readers put in their name and email so that you can inform about updates on your blog and also about products that they can be interested in. If you blogs about cats you could pitch a book about “cat training” to them. You set up a account on a affiliate program and sell those affiliate products to your readers if they’re interested.
