Using different methods and ideas on becoming influential to your consumers or audience with the help of Twitter.
Many people who are using Twitter get ecstatic when they see that they garnered a lot of followers. It just shows that many people are really interested in their tweets, posts, random thoughts, and the content that they are sharing. Although it’s important to have a lot of followers in your Twitter, there are still a few, particularly online marketers, who are still skeptical about having a million followers in their Twitter accounts because there’s a chance they might not be customers at all. These people who are following such accounts may just be a fan or somebody who holds a grudge in the company. Whatever these followers’ reasons are, it’s your job to make sure that you are communicating with them the right way.
Despite the number of followers you have in Twitter, it’s still highly important to gain your follower’s trust and make them influence through your tweets. So here are a couple of things you need to do to become an influential person in Twitter to your followers.
You first need a goal. You should admit though that it would be a hard time picking up followers on Twitter, especially if you are not a celebrity. Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber are prime examples of having a million Twitter followers because of their fame and celebrity status. However, you don’t have to attain a million followers yet and just be realistic about having a thousand or ten thousand followers. As long as you are sharing good content and making a big impact in your followers, then you have influence – and that’s what matters.
Setting up a Twitter is easy but you need to maintain it and must have the time to engage with your followers. Guy Kawasaki, co-founder of Alltop, shared that he has about 100 tweets a day, which helps drive traffic to their site, Alltop. He suggests that you should be consistent in content sharing; and at the same time, be available to answer questions that your followers may be throwing at you. Set a time frame where you can be available together with your followers so that a conversation in Twitter will take place.
Niche is also important if you want to gain more followers. Don’t just publish any content and think of something to share that you are most passionate about. When you provide information, make sure that you are in authority to say those things and take credibility for it. There are tons of rivals out there who may be talking the same stuff like you, so think of something worth sharing to gain the upper hand. Be relevant to your topic also. Once your followers get familiar with your niche and thinks that its good stuff, they are willing to share it to their followers by retweeting your information.
Last but not the least; learn to respond to your followers. It’s not really that hard to do. There are times when your tweets may cause some controversy or debates, and that is a good thing. It gets your followers stirred up and wants to converse with you. Don’t be afraid and talk to your followers. If they think your tweet is not worth interesting, then they surely don’t want to waste time following you or reading your tweets.
