At some point in your research to find the best way to advertise your website on the Internet, you will have undoubtedly heard from more than one “Guru” that ezine ads are one of the best ways to get traffic to your website. Many others may have told you that Google Adwords or some of the other PPC methods are better. Truthfully article submission is, by far, much more effective than ezine ads, Google Adwords or other PPC search engines to get visitors to your website.

Truthfully article submission is, by far, much more effective than ezine ads, Google Adwords or other PPC search engines to get visitors to your website.

The concept is simple.  When you write and submit articles, you are creating a way to interact with the reader.  This gives you the opportunity to earn the trust of the reader.  Here’s an example:

Let’s say you are a subscriber to a popular ezine and you see the newsletter in the inbox of your email account.  Because this is one you enjoy reading, you click the newsletter and begin to read.  One of the articles captivates your attention and when you are finished you are really impressed at how great the article was.  Under the article you see the link to the writer’s website and a short bio about him.  There is also a link where you can pick up a free report or some more information about the same subject the article was about.  You also notice there is another link in an ezine ad that offers a free report on that subject but it leads to a different website.

At this point you may be thinking that you would click both links to see which is better.  But research shows that like most people, you are more inclined to click the link of the author of the great article you just read.  It goes back to earning the trust of the reader.  The ezine ad offered you very little while you connected with the author through the words he put in his article.

You could also say the same about using Google Adwords or any of the other PPC Search Engines.  If you on the Internet and Google a specific subject you are interested in and find an article that has some really great advice for you, you would definitely click the link of the author over another PPC ad on the same topic and so would most people.

Now, at this point there should be no question that article submission is much better than ezine ads or Google Adwords because of the human connection with the reader.  But that’s not the only reason.  The reader also considers you an expert in the field and trusts what you say to be true.  So the next time they see your name alongside of another article or something else you may have written, they are likely to read it.

We are pre-conditioned to think that most people already hate “Salespeople”.  This probably stems from a kind of stereotypical feeling that all salespeople are somehow shady or unethical.  This makes it so much more critical that your articles try to educate the reader instead of trying to sell them something.

You can accomplish this by searching for problems people are having in their everyday lives. You must then write and submit articles that will give them information that will help them solve part or all of their problem.  The biggest mistake marketers make is to try to get people to buy a product through an article.  Give them something they can relate to and identify with and then educate them about something that will help them solve their problem. This is a much different approach than saying, “if you buy my product it will help solve your problem.”

That is the beauty of article submission, you can reach people in need on a very large scale through the Internet.  If you are able to submit good quality articles to article directories and submission sites, many of them will end up in ezines and on websites all over the Internet.  People will get to know you and want more as they read more of your articles.  The more problems you solve the more they’ll want to see.

By the way, you cannot do these things with PPC or ezine ads.  People have nothing to react to from a title and two lines of text in an ad. 

And let’s not forget the best part, article submission is free or at least very low cost if you use an article submission service. PPC ads and ezine ads have been known to be very expensive and there is no guarantee the traffic will ever convert into customers.  The same could be said for article submission except for the whole free part.

So now that you know the secret, it’s up to you.  Remember that you are building a reputation of someone who cares and that you know how to solve their problems. You will be well on your way to a lucrative venture through article submission, the better choice over ezine ads or Google Adwords.
