This is a valuable insight I found while I was tuned into a late night talk show.
Last night, I tuned into a late night talk show.
No it wasn’t one of those Conan, Jimmy Kimmel, or Stephen Colbert shows.
It was a show on the famous streaming platform, Twitch, where two videogame content creators were having a regular conversation. One of whom I’ve been following for the last six years.
They were talking about everything from relationships to life perspectives, food, beer, travel, school, and work.
If my memory serves me right, I believe that was the first time I tuned into a talk show session from beginning to end.
The stories they’d share with each other were mesmerizing. They shared a lot of funny stories, but also really personal ones. When they shared those stories, I felt like I knew them on a personal level, almost as if I was friends with them.
Come to think of it, it’s the exact reason why I’ve been following that particular content creator for six years. His content isn’t just about videogames. He also shares a lot of his own personal life and experiences.
The host of the talk show even talked about it. He told him,
“The reason why your fans have been following you for so long is because they want to watch you.”
I couldn’t agree more.
Even though he creates content around a videogame I’ve lost all interest in, I still watch him because it’s him.
That’s a perfect example of a powerful personal brand.
And yes, it’s possible to achieve this for your business too.
That’s why I always encourage you, the rest of my readers, and my clients to get personal in their emails.
Eventually, you’ll create your own loyal customer or client base that’ll stick with you for a very long time.
