Today the Pay Per Click advertising industri has grown into a huge industri. It has become a massive cash engine for PPC companies, but also for successful advertisers. It has also been shown that over 90 percent of PPC advertisers fail. They actually loose money by doing it the wrong way, instead of multiplying their money with successful PPC campaigns through systems like Google Adwords, which is the one I recommend. This article is a short guide to Adwords success.
The most important issue in PPC marketing is keyword research. When doing keyword research the first thing we need to do is to determine what niche we think is most suitable for our product. Let's say that we are going to promote an affiliate website that is selling Hi-Fi Stereo systems. I think we should definately have a closer look on the words Hi-Fi and Stereo. But also try to think of phrases instead of single words. Perhaps the phrase "quality stereo systems" is a phrase we could use. This brings us over on next step in this process. Keywordanalyzis.
Our website sells Hi-Fi Systems, and we know that a standard system could often cost several hundreds of dollars. Therefore we could bid more for a possible buyers visit. This is excact what PPC is all about. To bid for a word or a phrase. Through keyword and PPC analyzis we are going to find out which keywords/phrases that are most searched for in our niche, and also how many PPC campaigns there is for each of the phrases and how much they are willing to pay for a single click.
A good tool to find possible keywords/phrases is to use a free tool called goodkeywords.com. You simply input a word or phrase and it will look up how many searches per month there is for each word/phrase. It is a good idea to try to find phrases with as much searches per month as possible. But remember, there is more competition around very broad words such as "computer" instead of the phrase "online computer games". The key here is to find phrases with the highest monthly searches, with as few as possible relevant results, and with as few as possible advertisers. That is because we want to dominate our niche as much as possible. When no advertisers in our niche, we are alone and could bid minimum which currently is $ 0,06. This will result in more chance of successful campaigns rather than competing in a flooded niche where large companies could easily outbid you ten times your budget. We just don't wanna go there.
There is another way of taking advantage of flooded niches with so-called "high paying keywords". The method is called "The Adsense Arbitrage", and could easily be used if you are an Adsense publisher. It means that Google's Adwords network shows relevant ads on your website, and you get paid per click. Same thing here, only the other way around. I am not going to cover this technique in this article, so over to next step.
How to actually collect the data we need. The easiest way to do this is to use the GoodKeywords.com tool, and find phrases and sub-phrases to check out. When that is done you need to go to Google.com and search for the phrases with the use of the [] around the words. This means that you are using exact phrase match. You are looking for the number of results for the exact phrase and not one or two words in the phrase. On the right hand side of the Google results page you will see a number of sponsored links. These are the actual bidders for the phrase you searched for. If there are none, great. You are alone. With hundreds or thousands of searches per month you sure has found a profitable niche. If the number of results are showing less than number of searches per month you have an R/S factor of less than 1 which is also great.
If you want to try to bid in a niche where there is some competition, you should try to find out how much your competitors are actually bidding for that phrase. To do this you could do this manually by using Google's own service. But you don't get any exact numbers because they want to hide this data for advertisers in order to earn the most out of their campaigns. It forces people to overbid a niche. You don't have to do that if you have the right tool. I use what I mean is the number one keyword analysiz tool available on the market. See below. When using a powerful tool, you will have all data collected automatically, and you won't have to check every phrase manually. It saves a huge amount of time. You will also be able to create huge keywordlists containing thousands of words/phrases with a single click. That's why I never use the old method no more. Why should I?
Keyword analyzis is very important. What also is important when it comes to PPC advertising is to write effective ads. You are only allowed to use 70 characters for each ad. This limits down our possibilties. What has proved to be very effective is to include the phrase you write the ad for in the headline. Google will automatically use broad text for those words, and it will make the ad more appealing to the human eye. I have read a great ebook which I give away on my website. It teaches you step by step how to set up a successful Adwords campaign. Grab it for free below. There are also other aspects of writing ads. By looking at all the other advertisers and then try to do things a little better than them, or for instance try to be different than them. If your ad is the most special, you might get more clicks. This has also proven to be very effective for me.
This is the true basics of PPC advertising. To summarize we get these points: 1. Determine your niche. - Find possible keywords phrases to bid for through keyword research. 2. Find low cost phrases to bid for through analyzis. 3. Write effective ads. There are limitations. Use your available space correctly.
Now go get started. It's time to roll in some serious cash.
