Hawaii is both the name of the chain of islands that constitute America's 50th state, and the name of the Big Island that dominates the chain in the Pacific. Hawaii, the island, is not usually called such by those native to the islands  they just refer to it as the 'Big Island'. The name, really, is unimportant  however you choose to refer to it, you can be sure you will have a wonderful time when you visit!

The Big Island Hawaii is really "big" on attracting tourists. In fact, it is safe to say that the island is mainly geared for tourism. The 'Big Island' is home to some of the most interesting and unique forms of flora and fauna.
