Men and fashion always were the closest of kin ever since the time the Roman and the Pharaohs of the Egypt. Even the Indians have had their share of fashion with the Dhotis, Sherwani’s and Kurtas. The then and now of fashion is quite the same where men wanted to be the best. The Sherwani’s also an elaborated and much more vibrant version of Kurta is the icing on the cake. They are usually adored by the groom during a wedding. They are also worn during other traditional occasions. People usually prefer to wear matching pyjamas under them or we also have our uncles and the elderly section of the family wearing Dhotis under them.

We also have the Nehru Jacket, the style defined by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. These are buttoned or open jacket kind of Kurtas that are worn on various occasions. The jacket got its feel with the style being followed by “The Beatles” who had worn them on one of their concerts. They have also been conceptualized and worn by television celebrities and has become more of like a fashion for men.

The Kurtas have also have their opposite sex version called “Kurtis”. There are many exclusive showrooms selling them and even available online for purchase with many leading fashion stores. So with the moving times we may be seeing the Kurtas for men becoming a fashion than a tradition.
