The code of dressing in these countries is determined by their respective cultural obligations,Western Custom and its Influence on Eastern Clothing Articles religious beliefs and traditions. In fact, traditional and customary clothes are vital in these cultures and beliefs. Such cultures are also passed on from generation to generations. However, the style of eastern clothing is fast changing these days. Under the influence of western customs, the attires of eastern countries are gradually adopting a new and modernized pattern. This pattern is actually a blend of different cultures brought together.

The influence of West is undeniable. There are many bold proofs to explain such influences. Japanese men who traditionally wore Hakama and the Japanese women, whose customary clothing is Kimono, have now diverged in their fashion sensibility. They are more comfortable in western looking approach. The same theory applies for the traditional Indian and Islamic clothing.

In fact, it is the influence of West on eastern clothing that has motivated the designers to create the indo-western outfits. The following are some traditional eastern garments that have redefined by the designers and manufacturers:

Salwar kameez: This is popular eastern clothing wore by women. They are comfortable and versatile and come with three elements - the kameez, salwar and a scarf or dupatta. Under the western influence the designers have added many variations in their length, patterns and fitting. They are now available with designer backs and halter designs. In fact, the kurtis also originated from salwar kameez and are ideal examples of indo-western outfits.

Jilbabs: This type of eastern clothing is worn by Muslim women. They are long robes and are worn as outer garments. Traditionally they are black in color. These days, you can get jilbabs with subtle colors and pinstriped work on the neckline and cuffs. Hooded jilbabs are also available. It is due to the influence of West that these traditional Islamic clothes are now available in bold and trendy colors.

Abayas: These long black clocks are also customary clothes of Muslim women. Though they were originally made from polyester type of materials, you can now get abayas made of satin materials and internet crepe. More stylish geometric and floral patterns are also incorporated in these traditional outfits.

In addition to the above mentioned eastern clothing, there are many other customary outfits that have been influenced by the western customs. The Ghaghra Choli, which was introduced to the Indians during the Mughal rule, was originally a long flowing skirt. But these days, the Ghaghra is available in various styles. Even the style to drape the dupatta has diverged from the traditional ways.
