There is much debate in the online world of what exactly makes the search engines tick,SEO – How to Draw A Crowd Online Articles and how to get them to do what they do best in your favor. SEO – or search engine optimisation – is the biggest buzzword in internet marketing and e-commerce today. It is widely recognized that, without proper marketing even the nicest site may wind up overlooked and abandoned. In order to avoid this, companies are constantly looking for the right angle to get their site noticed by the search engines. The problem is, nobody is 100% certain of why site A comes up in the number one spot and site B comes in a distant second.

There are many widely accepted practices that are acknowledged as being SEO friendly. Knowing your target keywords and marketing to them is the key strategy in getting traffic to your site. How exactly you should do that marketing is however, one of the best kept secrets of the major search engines. None of them are really willing to divulge how to get to the top of their list. What we do know is that it is hitting a perfect combination of key word usage, links to and from other sites and in some cases using ad words. Though ideally, no one wants to pay for their site traffic, history has shown that sometimes, in order to move up the rankings you need a little “kick” in the form of an adword or two.

The gold standard in web site marketing success is known as “good organic traffic”. It is the thing that all internet marketing directors aspire to. A site with good organics will generate traffic just by being itself. Sites with good organics are the zen masters of the SEO world. They have found their niche and gotten the right exposure needed to move swiftly and strongly to that coveted number one spot and work constantly to maintain their rank. They do this by continually updating their content, so that their customers have a reason to keep coming back. The question remains though, how did they get those customers to visit their site in the first place.

For now, there are many theories of what makes a site SEO compliant and what does not. Although all of the theories seem to have some credence to them, no one is entirely sure which one is “it”. The best that can be offered is to take a bit from all of them, know your keywords, get published in blogs and article directories, and closely monitor the effects on your ranking.
