pain during first time sex may not be experienced by every man or woman, most of them feel discomforted at the very thought of it. Typically, the pain experienced during intercourse is not severe, but may be so if the person experiencing it has an underlying medical condition such as an ovarian cyst or urinary tract infection. The mental status of a person such as an ongoing feeling of guilt, stress or sexual abuse may also contribute to him/her experiencing painful intercourse.
It is important to be aware of the causes of pain during sexual intercourse to be able to avoid or reduce the chances of its occurrence. Here are some reasons behind pain during sexual intercourse:-
* Sex for the first time may be painful if the woman has her hymen intact or a dry vagina at the time of intercourse. Hymen covers a part of the vaginas opening and can break even before a woman goes through sexual intercourse i.e. by engaging in physical activities such as horse riding. Some women have it intact at the time of intercourse and May therefore, feel uncomfortable or painful. Anxiety or nervousness when engaging in sex for the first time may keep the vagina from lubricating enough to let the penis insert easily.
* If you sense a deep abdominal pain at the time of sexual intercourse, there is a decent chance that you have an underlying medical condition that is affecting your ovaries or uterus. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists may be because of a tilled uterus, a bladder disease, ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease and endometrosiosis.
* It is not a ground rule that only women feel pain during first time intercourse. Even men can and pain in men during first time sex can be because of Peyroine disease. In this disease, a plaque or scar tissue forms in the man’s penis. A man may also experience pain if the penis’ foreskin is very tight or has moved to the rear of the penis’ tip. Other causes may include psoriasis, urinary tract infection and dermatitis.
* Pain during first time sex can be caused by emotional factors. Emotions such as fear and guilt do not allow women to rest during sex. If a woman fails to relax while having sex, she will end up preventing lubrication.
