Cowboys are the richest NFL team
The NFL lockout helped players and team owners to fix some differences, that is true, but when it comes to how rich football teams are, it is certain that their current monetary situation is far away from been in turmoil, well at least that is what is true for the big name franchises, as Forbes Magazine just released their list of the most wealthy ones, with the Cowboys at the head (Texas is also the wealthiest team in American sports, not just in football, as they are $150 richer than the Yankees, whom are second) since they are worth a total of $1.85 billion, the Redskins are second at $1.56 billion, the Patriots at $1.4 billion, the Giants at $1.3 billion and the Jets at $1.22 billion.

ESPN and NFL sign new deal
On a deal that benefits both parties considerably, ESPN just announced that it has renewed his contract with the NFL, as their current deal expires in 2013, which is why the sports network just signed a 8-year extension that is worth $15.2 billion ($1.9 billion per year). The current contract didn’t gave ESPN any playoff games or the chance to air the Super Bowl, as they only had the option of televise seventeen regular season games, and it seems that with the new deal in progress they will have the right to air some playoff matches though nothing was mentioned about the championship match yet.

Germany loses to Gasol-fueled Spain
An outstanding performance by both Gasol brothers are leaving Dirk Nowitzki and Germany on the brink of elimination from the European basketball championship, as the Germans lost by 77-68 to the Spaniards on Wednesday in what it was the start of the second round of the competition (group stage). Mark Gasol finished with 24 points while Pau ended the match with a total of 19, the same number of points than Nowitzki.

Packers vs Saints tonight
With exactly the same roster as last year, the Packers are ready to open their 2011 season as one of the main contenders for the Super Bowl this year, and they will be playing their first game against the Saints, who are 2009 championship winners and also one of the franchises with the most chances of win it all this time around, so it will be interesting to see who is in better shape, Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers, as they are certainly the ones that make the difference in their respective teams.
