Seattle Mariners LF Raul Ibanez has been destroying left handed pitching...
POINTSHAVERS.COM 08/19/08 - Yesterday's pick wasn't a bad one...it just didn't win. Today's pick is a great one that should come in around the 5th inning!
The Seattle Mariners are finally showing the rest of Major League Baseball why baseball experts predicted that Seattle would contend for the 2008 American League Pennant. The Mariners have averaged over 6 runs per game in their last five contests including a 10-7 win against the Los Angeles Angels...and Mariners left fielder Raul Ibanez has been ballin' out of control! Ibanez is batting .577 (15 for 26) over his last six games; and, he has 4 home runs in August including a grand slam against the Minnesota Twins that enabled the Mariners to drop a 10 spot on Minnesota in the bottom of the 8th.
On the other hand, the White Sox are showing the Twins and the rest of the AL Central who the real contenders are for the 2008 AL Pennant. The White Sox have scored 26 runs in their last two games and they have hit 7 home runs in those contests including a 4 home run inning against Oakland where home runs were hit back - to back - to back - to back by Thome, Pierzinski, Ramirez, and Uribe.
Today, the White Sox will send LHP Clayton Richard (0-2 W-L, 9.64 ERA) to the mound to face Mariners ace Felix Hernandez (7-7 W-L, 3.04 ERA) who has been having problems with his location. Hernandez has averaged almost 4 walks in his last three starts.
With such a low total posted for this game, we're taking our chances with the OVER.
Chicago White Sox vs Seattle Mariners OVER 9 (-120)

Unraveling the Enigma of Matter Waves
In the quest to understand the fundamental nature of our universe, the concept of matter waves stands as a cornerstone of quantum mechanics. This article delves into the historical experiments that sought to measure the elusive properties of electrons, and the philosophical and scientific implications of those findings. We'll explore the intricacies of Robert Millikan's oil drop experiment, the charge-to-mass ratio, and the broader context of mass-energy equivalence in the realm of subatomic particles.Does The Atom Really Exist?
According to recorded history, the atom concept was developed by the ancient Greeks and the mathematician Democritus. The Greeks are credited with the discovery of the atom and the atom concept. Essentially, an atom is an indivisible component of matter. Or ... it can be thought of as matter in its simplest form. Since it is a component of matter ... you would naturally think that it has mass. This is logical and intelligent reasoning.Who or What Created The Universe?
I would like to thank Kristen Herde for her contribution to this post...I was going to respond to your two earlier questions regarding the Big Bang. I don't subscribe to the theory ... I have a different one...it's a little bit ahead of it's time .. so people probably won't take it seriously until years later. As far as the zones of infinite density and how did they get there ... they got there using an extrapolation technique (if that makes sense)... Scientists / Mathematicians just extrapolated backwards and figured that all the matter in the universe may have come from one point. They have no idea where it came from.
