Golf,Where to Begin With Golf? Articles when starting out can be quite daunting and this is where people make the most mistakes. The first thing people do is go and get some clubs. This usually involves seeing a special at the local golf store and going to pick up those clubs because they are a good price. To be honest I've made this mistake and its quite easy to do. The problem with this is that your buying clubs that you know very little about. Some people actually do have a hit with the clubs in the store but ultimately walk away with a new set of clubs based on price.

My suggestion is research clubs based on your game and skill level. Go in to a golf store or pro shop and measure your swing speed, measure your trajectory and have them suggest some clubs. Then go home and research the recommended clubs, as well as competitors to those clubs. The last time I purchased clubs was about 16 - 18 months ago and the I knew the clubs I wanted but after trying various types I went for a set that was I orginally didn't even consider. For most beginners a good set of clubs would be something like Cleveland HiBore's which are designed to be a very forgiving club. This means that the average golfer is able to get much more forgiveness when they don't hit the centre of the club (sounds strange I know). The trade off for this though is that you are not able to move the ball through the air as much. For instance, hit a draw around that tree. This usually just ends in trouble for the beginner anyway and is not a shot which should be attempted regularly by the beginner.
