The basics of magnetism -• North pole of the magnet points to the geomagnetic north pole• NP attract SP• SP attract NP• North poles repel north poles• South pole repel north pole• The longer the distance between the poles the weaker the attraction and repletion• They strongly attract steel, cobalt, iron• They slightly attract liquid oxygen and other materials• They slightly repel water, boron and carbon• The strength of a magnet varies at different locations on the magnet
We still hadn't discovered everything that there is to this object, but above are the basic proprieties of one.
Now we can easily demagnetize it by:• By hammering or jarring, this causes it to randomize the magnetic domains• Heating it past its Curie• Putting it near a reserve field above similar materials coercively.
