Damages - Enjoy A Great Story!
I would certainly recommend purchasing a HDTV, so you can enjoy your show in the best quality possible. My local cable provider Comcast Cable offers a great lineup of digital and High Definition channels.
Addiction can be a terrible thing. Soon the drugs you use are not enough and you need more and more. So it is with Damages,
the TV series that has allowed Glenn Close to receive an Emmy and Golden Globe for her starring role. The writers, Daniel Zelma and brothers Glenn and Todd Kessler, Željko Ivanek, Ted Danson, and Rose Byrne all have received various nominations.
Glenn Close stars as Patty Hewes, a high stakes litigator with the law firm Hewes and Associates. She, again, is the person you love to hate, a part she portrays so well. Along comes Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne) who is a bright-eyed young graduate, sought after by other firms, but wants to work with Patty Hewes. While their characters clash, neither will submit to another's will. As the season has progressed, both actresses have turned in incredible performances that draw you even further into this compelling series.
Damages mixes things that happened in the past, and things that are going to happen along with the current storyline. It's not a show you can leave for a moment without missing something, often vital to the plot. You have to stay on your toes to follow the zigzags all along the way. And it's important to be observant. Closely observe the neck of Saffron's shirt at the same time Ray Fiske does in the first episode, for example. Characters come and go and you are expected to remember them. You should be aware that at least one person you like will be gone. In the series you never know who will come back for the next episode. Damages has a first season run of 13 shows, but only some of the starting cast will comeback for a second series.
Is my addiction going to be prolonged? Is it possible for material of this caliber to continue being produced? Are there still more twists and turns left to fill another season or two with such intense intrigue? Never give up hope! TV will lose one of the best series to debut on the small screen in years if the writers and producers can match the quality of the first season in the second.
The show is even better when it is in high definition. But HDTV isn't all. Comcast provides outstanding Digital Voice and High-Speed Internet service as well. Now I can research all my favorite shows and download music and video much faster that I did with my old dsl service. Plus, with Comcast Digital Voice I can make crystal clear calls nationwide with out paying long distance charges. The Comcast HD Triple Play allows me to have three awesome products for one low monthly price. I found the best promotion online. For all your entertainment and communications needs I suggest Comcast Cable if its available in your area.
