With a strikingly similar appearance to the iHome alarm clock, the iLuv i177 has most of what the iHome has to offer and in my opinion, a little more. The clock features some really elegant lines. Along with the flowing speakers, a large snooze button and back lit display screen are centered on the front face of the i177. On top, you will find two dials used for adjusting the volume, tuning the radio, and setting the time / alarm. Two rows of buttons are featured between said dials for adjusting the sleep time, time, date, alarm settings, and music source. I was suspicious if the iLuv i177 would be a good alternative to the iHome iP90 but my experience with it has made me a believer.
For starters, the iLuv supports literally every generation of ipod, including the nano and mini, and even features a usb port for the ipod shuffle. On top of that, theirs a line-in connection so you can connect virtually any audio device. My favorite feature of all, a line-out connection is included which I frequently hook up to my home stereo system when entertaining guests. The included remote control also comes in hand when entertaining. Alarms can be set to your ipod, the radio, or your standard buzzer. Also, the master volume is independent of the alarm volume so you don't have to worry about accidentally silencing your morning wake up.
Although the MSRP of the iLuv i177 is $110, I have scoured the internet and found some truly great deals. For how much I got the i177 for, this has probably been one of the best bangs for my buck when it comes to ipod clock radios. Even though this is a FANTASTIC deal, the iHome iP90 does have a better stock stereo. With that said, the iLuv does have great sound quality, just not as crisp at high volumes as the iP90. This is however made up for by the line-out connection the iLuv i177 features, allowing you to blow any alarm clock away with your existing stereo system.

The clocky alarm clock is one item I will admit to waiting at the doorstep for. As a habitual snooze button slammer, the idea of an alarm clock which would race away from me before I got a chance to shut it off was very intruiging...iHome Clock Radio Review: iP90
