Okay,LED light bulbs – reasons why they are not an unimportant item Articles there should not be a shade of doubt that the most important reason why LED light bulbs do not have to be considered as an "unimportant item" is the effect which they have on the whole planet. Everybody knows that the LED light bulbs consume a particular amount of electricity to work - it is usually measured in watts (W). So the more watts, the more electricity is consumed. And when a lot of electricity is consumed, that does a lot of harm to the environment due to the fact that electricity is related to emissions of carbon dioxide, which are related to the global warm, which is related to the abnormalities we can witness nowadays. It definitely sounds amazing that something so small like the LED light bulbs could possibly have anything to do with such global problems, doesn't it?
Some people, however, might say that LED light bulbs that do not consume a lot of electricity are not powerful enough! And that is one of the most misleading thoughts and opinions! To most of the people it makes sense but it is actually a totally wrong way of thinking. The truth says that the electricity consumed by LED light bulbs have little or no correlation with how powerful they are. For example, a 12W led light bulb is considered to be exactly as powerful (bright) as a 100W ordinary bulb. The difference, however, is that the 12W led bulb needs 8 times less electricity to work, meaning it is 8 times more efficient.
But that is not everything to be mentioned about the LED light bulbs. It is also worth mentioning that a LED bulb has got a much longer lifespan than the ordinary bulb. On average, a 12W led bulb is considered to have a lifespan of around 35.000 hours, which equals more than 5 years of constant work. Doesn't it sound amazing? Oh yeah, it does, especially when that number can reach 50.000 working hours! It sounds like a tremendous number when compared with some bulbs that need to be replaced with new ones every month or two.
The conclusion is that the LED light bulbs are everything but not an unimportant item. All those facts prove that they can play a significant role in the rate of emissions of carbon dioxide. Some knowledgeable people might say that the average non-eco-friendly bulb emits only 150 grams of carbon dioxide throughout its life. Yes, it does not sound much, but don't forget there are over 500 trillion of bulbs on the planet. If all of them were LED light bulbs, it would definitely make a difference!
