Throughout their entire "life cycle" a product is effecting our environment detrimentally. However, by combating this effect at all stages of the product's life cycle, LED Tape proves that it is a superior choice when it comes to saving the environment.

There are many environmental benefits to be gained from using LED Tape instead of their fluorescent or halogen counterparts.

Lower Energy Consumption

There is a direct relationship between the electricity we use and the amount of carbon dioxide entering the atmosphere. This is because all electricity is generated through the burning of fossil fuels,The Environmental Benefits of LED Tape Articles such as coal and oil. LED Tape is both able to conserve these resources for future generations and reduce the amount of CO2 pumping into our atmosphere by using less electricity. LEDs are about 90% more energy efficient than other forms of lighting.

Recycling

The damage a product can inflict upon our environment does not stop when it fails. If not disposed of correctly it will end up in a landfill, where it will continue to cause problems for many years to come. Sadly, regular incandescent bulb are not recyclable. LED Tape on the otherhand comes under the aegis of the UK WEEE (Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment) initiative. That means when your LED Tape expires you can return it to the manufacturer or retailer and they will ensure it is used and reclaimed in the manufacture of further LEDs.

Longer Life Span

LED Tape has a life expectancy many times longer than other luminaries. Because it lasts longer it doesn't need to be replaced as often. As it doesn't need to be replaced, fewer resources and raw materials are expended in manufacturing more. Unfortunatley, the same can't be said about incandescents, which are produced in vast quantities to meet demand. Once bought, LED Tape will last many, many years.

No Harmful Chemicals

LEDs are some of the safest lighting available. Not only do they generate very little heat, but they also contain no harmful chemicals. Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) contain a small amount of mercury vapour, which is essential to their operation. If they break the vapour is released, and can cause substantial damage to the environment. Furthermore, disposing of CFLs is a complex procedure and involves chemical recapture, which requires energy.

As you can see, LED Tape doesn't just offer a flexible and stylish lighting solution. Its versatility also extends to the environment as well.
