The Great Galaxy S2 From Samsung - Destined To Become A Bestseller
The original Galaxy gave a pretty solid foundation for this model to build upon, but Samsung have surpassed themselves with a phone that performs beyond expectations.
Samsung are beginning to establish a reputation as a leading phone manufacturer on the back of the success of the hugely popular Galaxy S model. It is pleasing to see that the replacement for this model,
the new Galaxy S2, far exceeds what was on offer on its predecessor, it terms of both styling and performance. The most striking aspect of this new handset is just how small it feels overall, despite boasting one of the largest screens you will find on a mobile handset. The extra millimetres added in the width and depth departments is perfectly counter acted by the saving made on the depth, which is now an incredible 8.5mm, and the weight, which at just 116 grammes makes the phone feel almost as if it isn't there. The phone generally feels well constructed, despite its lightweight tricking your brain into thinking otherwise, with the 4.3" screen dominating the front of the phone and the back panel finished in an attractive looking black plastic covered with a mottled effect. The screen has stepped up its game, now using an improvement on Super AMOLED named Super AMOLED Plus which manages to further enhance the already impressive contrast ratios, giving a better image than ever, even rivalling Apples Retina display in terms of clarity. Resolution remains the sames as the original Galaxy at 480 x 800, which is not really a step back for this model, just that the first phone was well ahead of its times.Being an Android handset, the Samsung Galaxy S2 benefits from a wealth of downloads and music already available in the marketplace. The version on offer here is 2.3 Gingerbread which will please many phone fans as the platform is so new not many devices are currently sporting it. Like HTC do with there popular Sense system, Samsung have added there own UI in the form of Touchwiz. Making the daily operation of the phone more functional, the system makes simple improvements such as grouping similar applications together and giving you a social network feed that collaborates information from all of your accounts. With 16GB of storage capacity on offer, the potential for storing both photographs and video clips is massive. Both are impressive on this model with crystal clear full high definition video capture and photographs that look full of life thanks to 8 mega pixel resolution. The original Galaxy gave a pretty solid foundation for this model to build upon, but Samsung have surpassed themselves with a phone that performs beyond expectations. The phone is lightning fast and with its sleek design and high end media features, looks well set to become yet another best selling model. The Samsung Galaxy S2 and the LG Optimus 3D are coming soon.
