Shop Mannequins are used a lot in promoting and marketing the newest fashion and styles in shop-fronts and clothing boutiques. And that’s because they’ve been seen to work really well when compared to the other alternatives - clothing racks and cabinets. But as in all marketing, choosing the proper message to communicate and the ideal image to promote to the possible clients helps make a difference to the sales volume.
So to begin with - out of female or men's mannequins - which do best ?
A recent study was performed of the best converting Facebook adds. A page of 20 ads was presented to the people involved and they were asked to say which they liked best. But the marketer conducting the test was actually far more interested in and measuring which ad was clicked on most.
There was a variety of ads with pictures of men, graphs, books and logos, and one appealing lady. The add with the lady got a lot more clicks, and just as interesting was that most of the individuals in the trial were girls. So both men and woman were observed to be attracted far more to woman in contrast to men.
Now my own observation and take on this, is that the female figure is the most aesthetic to look at, and I consider that’s quite well supported if you look at all the paintings, photographs and statues made all through history.
But if you ask around, you’ll also find that girls like to compare themselves to other woman, and see how they could look if they dressed up or made themselves up certain ways. And men enjoy looking at woman, simply because they are interested in them. But the reasons aren't as important as the simple reality that female figures attract more attention in contrast to men.
So some guidlines :
1) if you need to choose, choose in favor of female mannequins;
2) if you need to show men’s clothing, use male mannequins of course, but involve some female mannequins in the show also, or close by;
3) Test everything! Uncover a way to measure the outcomes of a show. Then try a 2nd display ( at the same time if possible ). Replace exhibits that don’t do as well with new displays, and constantly try to beat the other exhibit’s performance.
The very best shop mannequins are those which target the potential buyers in the area. They present an image which complements the public’s own concept of what they want. It may take a bit of testing, surveys and speaking to people to get it correct. But it’s great to realize that to start off with, female mannequins and figures will do a much better job attracting attention to what you’re offering.
