You can still manage to clean the house and invite your friend, following these simple tips.

Speed Tidying Up

Have you ever noticed how unkempt your home appears when there are clothes thrown in every room. Even if they're clean they can make your place look like a mess. If you have some unannounced guest then probably you won't have the time to fold everything and put it into the wardrobe. So, the fastest solution is to collect all clothes and put them in the bedroom, where no one is supposed to enter. You can fold them and hang them into the wardrobe later.

The situation with sundries and all types of gadgets is probably the same. It is proven that nowadays average person spends about 30 minutes a day looking for keys, remote controls, headphones etc. And we all know why – usually every surface in our homes is covered with such things. When you make your weekly cleaning you will hate to spare at least an hour to collect and put them away. But when you have to be fast the best thing you can do is to pick up everything and store it in a cabinet or in a big plastic bag, until the visit is over.

Before you start with the cleaning make sure that you've picked up all dishes and glasses from each room. Abandoned plates and coffee mug will make your place look neglected. Put them into the dishwasher or in the sink. Even if you don't have the time to wash them, this is better than leaving them all over.

Fast Cleaning Around the House

Tidying should take you around 20 minutes, so you have less than 40 minutes for cleaning. Don't panic, this is more than enough to make the place look better. Start from top to bottom. Wipe all the surfaces – tables, bookshelves your desk to dust them and remove any water or coffee rings. This may not sanitize them, but surely will make them look fine. Cleaning the bathroom sink is also a must – no one enjoys to see dried toothpaste residues when washing his hands.

Now, all you have left to do is to clean the floors. If you do this regularly and you try to keep carpets from re-soiling this step may be unnecessary. If there is however visible dirt vacuum thoroughly the carpets especially in high traffic rooms. Unfortunately if there are some stains on your rugs it's not possible to remove them in few minutes, they'll still look cleaner after vacuuming. The last step is to take care of the hard floors and tiles. Fill a bucket with hot water and put some cleaning agent. High temperature will dissolve the dirt more easily and fast and the cleaned areas will dry faster. Wipe the floor and leave the windows opened to let the smell of detergents go away.
