Generally a DMX system consists of two parts, a master and a decoder, which are connected by cord. The master sends out DMX signal to the decoder, and the decoder receives the signal and converts it to PWM signal and transmit it to the connected lights. The operations are executed by the master. Once the master controller has a RF receiver inside, it will be able to receive wireless radio frequency control signal and convert RF to DMX signal then outputs to the decoder. Thus the wireless controller can be controlled by handheld or wall mounted RF remotes, and the operations are executed by the remotes.

You can control lighting anywhere with one remote within your house, for instance, if you're in the bedroom, you can control the sitting room lighting remotely, the control distance can be up to 20 meters. It is possible to control multiple areas with only one remote, for example, sitting room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom, you do not have to purchase so many switches.
The RF remotes is easier to use and more user-friendly than common DMX master. If you use a master to control, it is a little bit complicated for the starters, you have to pay much time to learn. The RF remotes are designed with user-friendly interface, it is easy to know the functions of each keys at a first glance. You just need to pair them with the master that has built-in RF receiver. Moreover, RF remotes are available in many more styles than the DMX masters. Currently there are handheld remote with keys, handheld remote with touch control, wall mounted touch panel, wall mounted push button and wall mounted rotary knob, you can choose whatever you want.
