Do you ever find yourself having a hard time making business decisions that are right for you? I bet you answered yes. We all at one time or another find ourselves in a situation that requires us to make a big decision, and we are just not sure what to do.
We think about it, we analyze the situation from all angles, we research the information and in other words we want to figure it out. Are you with me on that?
Did you ever notice that frequently when attempting to make decision in this way the more you think and analyze, the more you research, the more you want to figure it out, the more hazy it gets? If you started with some sense of clarity, by the time you finished with your thinking and figuring it out, you are back to square one possibly even more confused than before. And all this time and energy was invested into your figuring out process. Making decisions in this way doesn't exactly fall underneath "smart investment of energy" category.
Then you may take it even further by asking people close to you what you are supposed to do. That opens up another can of worms. :) People always volunteer to tell you what the right thing is for you. Don't fall for this. You are the solo authority on what is right for you. Sure it is helpful to have someone there to support you by holding space so you can sort things out for yourself, however that is diff erent than a person telling you what is right for you. If you have a tendency to ask around and listen to what you should do, what that usually does is take you further away from listening to yourself and getting to the authentic answer for you. So the question now becomes:
"Is there a better and more effective way to make decisions in your business and in your life?"
And the answer is: YES.
What it is: Well from the title you already might have guessed that it is using your intuition.
However before we go there I want to make sure you understand that intellect is a valuable entity however it has its limits. If you read statements and quotes from the most famous scientists like Einstein even they will tell you that intellect only can take you so far. After that you have to work with your gut. Here is one of my favorite quotes from him:
"It is only when your intuition goes to work, a genius is in charge."
Learning how to combine your intellect with your intuition is the greatest thing you can do for your business and for your life. It will help you to save time, money, energy, emotional turmoil and going through a lot of unnecessary situations. In short, it makes life all together a much easier and much more enjoyable experience. :)
So let's go through some basics here:
What is intuition?Basic definition of intuition is: ability to sense or know immediately without reasoning.
How does intuition communicate? There are many different ways. Many people think that intuition comes only in one way. Not so. Here are some common ways that intuitive communication comes through:
Most often than not every person has two or three predominant ways how they receive intuitive information. For me the most predominant way is emotions, physical sensations then combined with thoughts. I know people who get their information predominantly in dreams, pictures and sounds. So I want to encourage you to get to know your unique way intuition communicates to you. Start consciously paying attention to it. Once you know what that is, it will become really easy to use intuition in your daily life.
Another question I get asked a lot is:
"How do you start tapping into your intuition?"
Here are a couple of ways for you to do that:
This information will get you started on the path of using your intuition more effectively in your business. In part two I will share with you a simple process that will help you make decisions in your biz a breeze. :)
Before we get into the actual steps I want to say that it is very useful to get yourself centered and relaxed. You will be able to access your intuition more easily when you are in a relaxed state.
A simple way is to do this:
Sit in a comfortable chair, loosen up your clothes, and turn off your phone so you are not disturbed by the outside environment. Start taking deep relaxing breaths and do that for a minute or so. Once you feel a sense of relaxation in your body you are ready to proceed forward.
Now that you are relaxed and centered I want you to think of a situation that you have a dilemma with in your business or in your life.
I want you to pick two possible solutions to the situation at hand. Write them down in this order: SOLUTION #1 then SOLUTION #2
Now pick the SOLUTION #1 and ask yourself the following questions:
Now pick SOLUTION #2 and go through the same three questions above like you did with SOLUTION #1. Write down all your responses just like before.
Now look at your written responses to the questions and you will be able to determine the right solution for yourself based on the answers you received.
The basic rule of thumb is that your intuition always steers you in the right direction and you know the right answer because it will feel good, exciting, positive, and there will be a sense of openness and expansion about it.
If you are not getting any clear and definite feedback/answer it could be because it is not the right time for you to be making this particular decision and the smart thing to do is to wait before you proceed.
So there you have it. Enjoy and test it out for yourself. If you would like to turn your intuition and your other innate gifts and abilities into assets and profits in your business then I'm only a phone call or e-mail away.
Until next time, take good care and remember to have fun! :)
Give Your Inner Critic a Long Overdue Break
Do you have a tendency to criticize yourself? Let me guess. You do…if not often, then at least from time to time. I don’t think there is a person who doesn’t question or second guess their abilities, looks, values or some other aspect of themselves, their life or business, every so often. Would you agree? We all have what I call our inner critic.Boost your confidence, boost your business
So how important do you think confidence is in your business? Do you think it matters? I tell you it matters a lot....I happen to witness over the years that confidence is one of the key factors that really determines how you behave, what actions you take, and what results you get in your business. How to Use Your Period to Move Forward in Business
Seeing the musical MENOPOAUSE has really inspired me to write an article about the power and wisdom of women's period and how to use this information to move forward in your business. Any time that I talk to women about their period, most often than not I hear something like this 'I wish I didn't have my period because it is messy and only gets in the way.' Can you relate to this statement? Well I used to think so as well. Not anymore. And after you read this article you won't look at your period the same way either.
