Many corporate believe that people at the bottom of the pyramid in corporate only lie and .....
In one of the HR meetings it was discussed that who in the corporate tell lie the most – the CEO or the employees in the lowest level? Ironically, the consensus was that the people only at the lower level especially the officers, executives and managers speak lie more than anyone. The top managers were more in numbers and hence they have a reason to prove that they are honest, straight forward and do not know how to lie.
If the HR love to study and understand the creative intelligence of nature, can easily find an answer to the question of who is the big liar in the corporate world. How nature will help one to find out the liars in the corporate world? It may appear strange and funny, but unless the truth is felt and experienced, the truth cannot be seen.
Look at the camouflage diversity in animal world. There are different ways, different animals camouflage like, colour, shape and appearance, sound etc.
Better do not get lost in the world of camouflage among animals but understand and classify the animals largely into two groups viz.,
Who the predatory animals or the prey animals camouflage the most? The nature has favoured both the animals with camouflaging power and both the animals do. One to escape and the other to hunt, employ camouflage technique.
Until the predator reaches the prey, the presence of the predator should not be known to the prey animal, hence they camouflage. Whereas, for the prey animals, they have to hide their presence to the predator, so camouflage.
From the biology point of view, both the predator and prey animal ‘survive’ largely by employing the technique of camouflage. Camouflage only manifest in the form of ‘lie’ in the corporate world.
The employees at the bottom and CEO’s at the top of the pyramid are good liars and born liars in general. There is no measure as who is the most, the employee or the CEO. The interesting twist is that the people at the bottom of the pyramid tell lie only to people at the top whereas the people at the top tell lie both to the people at the bottom (within the organization) as well as to the world at large.
If we look at the ‘intensity’, ‘propensity’ and ‘innocence’ of the lie, the lies of CEO’s and top management people are largely filled with cunningness, treachery and brutal value erosion in general. Unless they win in ‘convincing through lying’, they cannot survive like how the survival of a predator depends only in killing the prey.
Whereas the lies of people at the bottom of pyramid are largely survival oriented, naïve and are filled with helplessness and pity.
The purpose of the article is not to show the corporate world in poor light or mock at them in total, but to give an insight from nature to see, learn and understand things that are not understood.
Man being a product of the nature, only by learning from nature, he can perfect his conduct in corporate. A state of ‘perfection’, ‘serenity’ and ‘defect’ are engineered in all life forms in equal measure by nature.
No one is superior or inferior just due to their designation or the position in the corporate hierarchy; this is the message one need to learn from nature. When you suspect, suspect everyone and when you trust, trust everyone, this is how our approach should be.
Discrimination and difference should not be allowed in our judgment as it may affect us from seeing the truth as it is.
