Commercial focus may move out of New Delhi with massive designs of Smart City development being made on the outskirts of outer Delhi like Narela, Kanjhawala & Najafgarh. Under the direction of the urban development ministry, DDA is preparing a proposal to turn areas they had identified for land pooling in to a huge, integrated Smart City.
Around 24,000 hectares in Najafgarh, Kanjhawala & Narela will be converted in to a model city. It will have, among other facilities, 100% power, 100% web connectivity, 247 water supply, & high frequency mass transport. Rs 7,060 Cr has been deployed for development of 100 such Clever Cities all over the country. DDA’s Clever City project would be of them. Officials in the Authority have proposed for its completion and will be tabled in the next meeting for final approval. Once it gets the nod, work on the project will start immediately.
By the end of this year, land pooling technique in Delhi would get initiated and simultaneously it would also have in place a PMC.
